Steps to erase internet history are different for each browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc
If you type in the shelter in a search engine, you will have to delete the history entirely
If possible, mail a direct link to yourself on a safe account like hotmail.com.
Click on the link from the email to open the web page. It won’t leave the typed address in the URL bar or a search engine bar. Then delete the site from the regular history using the following steps:
For Microsoft Internet Explorer:1. In the top left corner are 2 circles with arrows, and a small black triangle beside them. Click on the black triangle.
2. Click on
History.
3. Click on
Today.
4. Right click on the site address you want to delete.
5. Click on
Delete.
6. Click on
Yes.
7. Close window.
For Mozilla Firefox:
1. Click on
History at top of screen.
2. Click on
Show in sidebar.
3. Right click on site to be deleted.
4. Click on
Delete.
5. Close window.
***The following will delete all browser history. Open other web pages afterwards to avoid suspicion.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer:
1. Click on
Tools at the top of the screen.
2. Click on
Internet options.
3. Click on
General tab4. Under
Browsing History, click delete.
5.
Temporary internet files: click delete.
6. Cookies: click delete.
7.
History: click delete.
8. Close browser window.
For Mozilla Firefox:
1. Click on
Tools at the top of the screen.
2. Click on
Clear private data.
3. Select Browser history and
Cache4. Click on
Clear private data now.
For Netscape:
1. Click on
Edit at the top of the screen.
2. Click on
Preferences.
3. Click on
Navigator in the left hand box.
4. Click on
History and
Clear history in lower right corner.
5. Below that, click on
Clear location.
6. On the left side, click
Advanced then
Cache.
Always double check to make sure history is gone.
